Therapy
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
What is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a non-invasive treatment performed inside a sealed chamber, during session patients breath an elevated concentration of oxygen at increased atmospheric pressure. This environment allows your body to absorb and deliver more oxygen to your blood, cells, blood plasma, and other vital fluids. The result is enhanced healing, reduced inflammation, and faster recovery for injured or oxygen-deprived tissues.
What are the benefits of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
At the essence of HBOT. The increase in oxygenation accelerates the bodies natural healing abilities. Positive benefits have been shown in research in the following areas:
- Accelerated recovery from acute and chronic injuries
- Reduction in inflammation and swelling
- Improved healing of brain tissues following a tbi (concussion and other brain injuries)
- Improved immune function
- Improved healing following surgical procedures (decrease in swelling, bruising and risk of infection)
- Increase in collagen production
- Improved circulation
More information about specific conditions and the benefit of HBOT can be found at the International Hyperbaric Associations website.
Who should avoid HBOT
While Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is generally safe, certain individuals should be cleared by a physician or avoid treatment altogether. These include:
- Patients with untreated pneumothorax (collapsed lung)
- Pregnant women (must obtain clearance from their doctor)
- Those with recent ear surgery, active ear infections, or difficulty equalizing ear pressure
- Individuals with specific heart conditions without physician approval
Safety
Patient safety is our top priority. We are proud to be one of the few clinics in the area that can say the following:
- Uses only FDA-certified Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) chambers
- All Staff are trained through the International Board of Undersea Medicine (IBUM) program, ensuring strict adherence to safety and research protocols
How many sessions are needed
At our clinic, we take pride in listening to our patients and creating customized treatment plans tailored to individual health conditions and goals.
- For chronic conditions like autoimmune disorders, fatigue, and tissue damage, 20–40 HBOT sessions may be recommended for optimal healing.
- Acute injuries, including concussions or post-surgical recovery (such as ACL repair, joint replacement, or cosmetic procedures), often require fewer sessions.
- Many clients also choose HBOT for wellness and recovery, coming in once or twice a month to boost oxygen levels and support overall health.
- Our experienced team will guide you every step of the way to ensure a personalized and effective treatment plan.
How long are the sessions
A typical Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) session lasts approximately 70 minutes.
This includes 60 minutes at the prescribed treatment pressure, with the remaining time allocated for gentle pressurization and depressurization to ensure a safe and comfortable experience.
Are there side effects
HBOT is generally very safe, and side effects are uncommon at the pressures we use. Patients may occasionally notice:
- Slight ear pressure or discomfort
- Temporary changes in vision after a session.
In home HBOT rentals
We offer in-home HBOT chamber rentals servicing the DFW metroplex
Allowing patients who are on larger treatment protocols or with busy schedules to stay on track with their therapy.
This service removes the need for travel and enables patients to receive effective treatments from the comfort and convenience of home.
